Employee Highlight: Destree Bascos

Destree was one of the 40 women selected recently for the San Diego Chamber of Commerce Advance Leadership class.

Destree Bascos has built a career working on projects that integrate civic engagement and sustainability. With over 14 years of experience, she specializes in marketing and communications, transportation demand management and community outreach. Destree is passionate about using her skills to contribute to the good of the community and create civic legacies that will inspire future generations.

Destree was one of the 40 women selected recently for the San Diego Chamber of Commerce Advance Leadership class. The six-month program hosted by the San Diego Chamber of Commerce includes networking, mentoring and training to take participants’ careers to the next level and create more female executives and leaders throughout the region. 

Destree was also selected as part of the inaugural class for the Association for Commuter Transportation's (ACT) impACT program that focuses on leadership development, self assessment, and management. She was one of 18 colleagues that attended an intensive 3-day training in Orlando, Florida. She will be actively participating in ACT as the 2018 Conference Awards Co-Chair. The 2018 Conference will be held July 29-August 1 in Anaheim, California.

Destree at Steer Davies Gleave

Destree works with the Steer Davies Gleave Planning Team in San Diego as the Shift San Diego Program Manager. Shift San Diego is a program designed to reduce traffic congestion around the Interstate 5/Genesee Avenue Interchange Project and other transportation improvements planned or underway in the Golden Triangle community. Destree works closely with several key large employer accounts in conjunction with SANDAG’s TDM program, iCommute. From managing community outreach and media buy campaigns to working with employers in helping to provide transportation solutions during construction, the Shift campaign has actively connected with almost 60 large companies and institutions in this community, covering 60,000 employees and 36,000 students.
